This section of Google Security Operations onboarding will go over Administration: Initial Config and Admin Setup.
Prerequisites
To access and manage the administrative features described in this phase, the following organizational requirements must be met:
- Authentication and Access: Users must have valid authentication provisioned via Google Cloud natively or through an external Identity Provider (IdP).
- Google Cloud Project (GCP) Permissions: Administrators require the authority to manage Projects within the Google Cloud console.
- Identity Federation Configuration: If integrating an external IdP (such as Azure AD or Okta), the administrator configuring the initial setup must possess the iam.workforcePoolAdmin role at the GCP Organization level.
