Looks like there is a bug in registering for the SOAR free edition, I am unable to find a way after sign in

yes i have the same problem
I misunderstood the way it works
How it works is, when you enter business email and other details and submit your request is taken and it does not log you in or give u a confirmation. It took around 2-3 hours and I received an email with my access to community licensed edition.
