Has anyone else run into a bug where the playbooks disappear and do not wish to reappear? Then they'll randomly reappear?

Yes that has happened to me before - had to recover it from archives with help from Support team

Any chance you got a root cause?

Yup I recently did actually - here's the response from them
The product team has identified an issue in the mechanism(UpdatePlaybook) currently used to save playbooks. In other words, if an error occurred during the UpdatePlaybook operation, such as an OutOfMemory exception in the system, the previous version of the Playbook could be marked as archived before the exception occurred, without the new edited version of the Playbook actually being created (because of the exception).

This fix is slated to be released with version 6.2.30.

Let me know if we can proceed on closing the case or if you have any further questions.

Not sure if this exactly matches your situation. For us it was basically when we tried to save a playbook, it got archived instead

Close enough I could see it being the same bug or very closely related.

Fortunately we follow a regular backup process so we were able to restore an older version. I recommend that for sure!

This is indeed a bug and the fix will be released soon. In the meantime there is a workaround that can be done by following these steps:

Huh, this happened me too a few weeks ago with two playbooks, I thought someone on the team must have deleted them
