Has Anyone Migrated from Forwarders to Bindplane?

Hi All, 

 

With the Google SecOps Forwarder being deprecated next year (https://docs.bindplane.com/how-to-guides/google-secops/migrating-from-the-deprecated-google-chronicle-forwarder) has anyone here started / completed the migration?

 

My team and I are starting the process this Quarter but I’d appreciate any insight from teams that have already gone through the process. Things I’d like to understand:

  • Complexity of the migration
  • Issues Encountered
  • Words of advice for others that are just getting started

    From experience, it's pretty simple and straightforward.
    It’s important to make sure that the BindPlane configuration  (which you will apply to the agent) matches the existing forwarder configuration.

    Also, make sure the network requirements needed for the BindPlane agent are in place before the migration,  this is the main difference in my opinion.
