is there a way to send logs to chronicle via intranet traffic instead of going over the internet?

Chronicle is a SaaS product. The logs will have to leave your network for Chronicle to ingest them.

Noted on that. If i have a direct link and i can send my logs to a Google Cloud account, can chronicle ingest from the Google Cloud account without going out through the internet?

You can send your logs to a GCS bucket, and then have Chronicle ingest the logs, but I dont know if the connection to the GCS bucket from Chronicle is from the internet or from GCP.
