Is it possible to send emails automatically to case owners when SLA time changes from green to orange to read as a reminder that SLA is nearing breach?
Theoretically, it can be done using a custom python job that will check the remaining time for SLA and, based on it, decide whether to send a notification or not.
However, there's no such function out of the box. Therefore, I would recommend you open a Feature Request and, in the meantime, consider developing a custom job and using it as a workaround.

This should definitely be a function of our product. We need a feature request but would assume this is already in the works
